cookie_monster Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I'm having a problem that's driving me mad. For some reason the Office file associations have become mixed up and whenever a user tries to open a .docx, pptx or xlsx file it is set to open with the MS Office 2007 Open xml convertor instead of the correct office program. If I associate the extension with e.g. Word 2003 it opens, launches the convertor and opens it in Word rather than just converting and saving. The problem is that I can't change the association for all users, usually if I want to change an association I change it in the network user profile and it's fixed for everyone this isn't working in this situation it seems to be reset at each logon. Any suggestions? Thanks.
cookie_monster Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 A full reinstall of Office fixed it in the end. Just selecting reinstall in group policy wasn't enough I had to unassigne and then reassign it, what a pain.
sted Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 could you set it right then export the regfile then set the pcs to regedit /s office03.reg at login?
