Hey everyone!

Our nice new iMacs are just about to arrive for the Art Dept'

I just had a thought that the old nasty scanners they have might not work very well (they weren't to hot on the PCs)

Anyone got a recommendation(s) of scanners that they have successfully been using?

Might be looking for a couple of A3 flatbeds too.

Cheers,

Jon.

Now I don't want to be accused of spamming here but in all honestly this might save you a lot of time. If you look at the Jigsaw24 website and search for scanner you'll see all the ones we sell. In the list we state which platforms they work on, so it's a good way to see what's Mac compatible at a glance. Actually, most of them are these days so you should find something pretty easily. Always check the manufacturer's website to see what the latest Mac drivers are though. The Macs you've just bought should have the OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard system on them and you'll want to make sure there's a driver for that. You can search on A3 scanner too, and it looks like many of those are for Mac too.

Just in case this helps: we're using a load of Epson Perfection 4490 Photo scanners with our iMacs. They're A4 size with negative scanning and lots of other jazzy bits, and they all work very nicely.

Yes, very good choice. Typically, by the way, if an Epson has Photo in its name, it has a light in the lid for scanned negatives and slides.
