russdev Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Can someone confirm for me is it true that the cisco router needs to plug into the embc provided vlan switch. I have heard conflicting stories about the fact that router has been configured only to see the cisco vlan switch. Going to try it at some point but if anyone knew for sure. Russ
GrumbleDook Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I think this one might be LA specific to cater for network requirements. There are still a few differences between LAs (though not many now) ... not sure if this is one.

36Degrees Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 It may even be different within the LA although I'm not 100% sure. Last year I convinced one of the LA's techs that I did know what I was talking about and that there was a lot of configuration on the Cisco switch and I was then told that it is possible to have this requirement removed.
glennda Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Not sure if its the same for you guys up there but down here in west sussex we can only put our external connection into two of the ports on the 24 port cisco router owned by the LEA. Not sure if thats what you mean or not. Toby

We got told this but the router would have to go back, they couldn't do it remotely obviously. 1
