Gerry Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 WSUS says it has an update ready to install: .NET 2.0 SP1 Security Update. So I tell it to go ahead. It appears to install ok, but after a while it says the same update is ready to install! I can’t uninstall .NET 2.0/2.0SP1 either – it says software relies on it, and I can’t re-install 2.0 SP1 over the top – says it’s already installed. Found this from MS’s website: How to manually remove and then reinstall the .NET Framework 2.0 but I can’t find “Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 RTL x86 enu” in the installer cache mentioned in the instructions.
ajs Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Have you tried using the dotnetfx cleanup tool? Aaron Stebner's WebLog : .NET Framework Cleanup Tool User's Guide 1
K.C.Leblanc Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 If the failing update is KB974417, you need to uninstall KB976569 (go to add remove programs and tick show updates), then install KB974417, then reinstall KB976569. 1
Gerry Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 The failing update was KB95330, but I noticed .NET 2 Service Pack 2 wasn't installed, so now it is and I think it's working. Thanks anyway.
