Just had one of our brother 5250DN complain it needs its drum replacing and refusing to print.:( stock cupboard is bare!

Just a handy tip I found thought I'd post it

If you do the following it resets the drum counter and the printer works fine:)

1. Open the door

2. Remove the drum unit

3. Press the Go button until all the lights come on in amber colour

4. Let go of the go button

5. replace drum unit

6. Close the door

Happy days

Thought everyone did this?!!!!! Equivalent to giving toner cartride a good shake when it says toner out, and getting lots more print jobs done before replacement. Edited by SteveT

Our HL-5250DNs do so few prints, we've only had to replace any drums this year!!

You don't even need to remove the drum, but it is a very good cost saving hack, as the drum can go another 2 Toner cartridges worth of printing without seing any fusing problems.

PS. This is the actual method of reseting the clock on the printer when you really DO replace the drum.
