County broadband failure

This has happened a few times here and it is the end of the world for our office staff. I was wondering about getting a PAYG 3G dongle that could be shared between the office computers in an emergency. Has anyone done this?

Yes we have a 3 dongle for that also great for checking sites that are filtered. Ours is on a wireless router so we can connect to it via laptops, and keeps the seperation of the 3g network and the school/lea etc lan.

We have a separate ADSL line that is connected to the Smoothwall and we can change over to it at a click of a rodent and then no-one notices the difference but it means we actually can work without the LA Internet and its still filtered fine
