FN-GM Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 (edited) Hi, Abit of an odd one here. I am using some hosting for a website. The Webmail client they provide isn't much good in all honesty. I am looking for a good webmail application I can upload to a directory on my hosting, login and configure to receive messages via POP. Does such a think exist? Basically its like a web based e-mail client like Outlook. Does anyone know of any please? Edited April 14, 2010 by FN-GM
pete Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 There's roundcube, but it's IMAP. Roundcube - Free webmail for the masses
powdarrmonkey Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I favour roundcube. I think you need a two-legged approach: one to download your mails for you, and one webmail interface to read them. I don't think you'll find something that does both purely in a web language. Me, I pipe incoming mail to a maildir and use roundcube to read it if I'm on the move, or IMAP from a fat client if I'm somewhere sensible. One copy of the mailbox saves deleting stuff twice on my phone
