In Win 2008 R2 I used the GPMC to edit a GPO that contained the software restriction policy. Now, when trying to view the report in its HTML format I get an error.

An error has occurred while collecting data for Software Restriction Policy

This error impacts the following settings:

Software Restriction Policies

Software Restriction Policies/Security Levels

Software Restriction Policies/Additional Rules

The following errors apply to all of the above settings:

When I check this on a Win 2003 server it won't display the report. When I edit something so insignificant within the GPO, it works and everything is back to normal.

However, the quoted problem remains on 2008 R2. What's gotten 2008 R2 to not display things right? Any ideas?

I've attached a screenshot to show you it doesn't display things right.

Same problem here, usings a Windows 7 client to manage the GPO on a Windows 2003 domain.

Seems to be a common problem once you start to search for this issue online.

Even if it's a cosmetic error, some folks might not know what changes they made because extra settings isn't self-explanatory.:(

You can still open up the GPO and read the SRP list from within that.

Sorry you already mentioned you could do that, misread your first post :)
