Potato-Peeler Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Hello, what I want is for WSUS to either just install the updates when it shuts down, or to not prompt for a restart. So no users are bothered. How is this possible to do? Cheers
kmount Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Group policy can configure the download in the background and schedule for install together with removing the user annoying features (notifications) for non admins etc. Have a play with the settings and see if you can make it do what you want.
Potato-Peeler Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 I have had a play, and it turns off the auto restart. But it does prompt people saying to finish updates you need to restart pc. Is there a way to trun that off completely?

Hey, Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update Double-click on “Re-prompt for restart with scheduled installations” “No auto-restart for scheduled Automatic Update installation” Disable it! Enable it! D 1

stevenwba Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Correct it is an option within there! D you beat me too it anyway, i just couldnt remember the policy names 1
Potato-Peeler Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 But even with these policies enable it still prompts for a restart. Just not automatically, and it doesnt remind them either. It just states that restart is needed and gives them an option for yes or no.
alan-d Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Try this one 'Allow non-administrators to receive update notifications - Disabled'
