I want to work on something new for the website, but nothing to make it complicated but to enhance how people use it - I have a few plans and ideas that were trying out, but wondered what other gadgetry people have on their website?

We have "360 of the school" coming soon and a banner scroll for the front page were the home access banner is so we you can also press next etc and it will take you to that banner. A lot like the one on http://www.ebuyer.com.

Anyway, here it is Valley School, A Specialist Technology College - Homepage

I've got a lot of validating to do, but the head teacher won't notice that - he notices "in your face" changes.

So shout what you have and/or ideas!

Ta,

I'd suggest doing a geotagged photosynth so that people can 'walk through' photos of your school, you can create and host them for free and they are easy to embed in a site. Takes a bit of experimentation and a lot of photos but the results are really impressive. If it is geotagged and made 'public' then it is also included in bing maps and people can zoom down into your synth from the maps application. We are getting close to publishing one for one of my sites, just need to wait until the next billing month so we don't kill our bandwidth cap uploading it.

The site is Photosynth - Use your camera to stitch the world.

Looks like a good idea, but I prefer the 360 version seems less complicated! Haha.

I discussed with the Trusty Assistent how we could go about making our own Google Streetview-style camera with a laptop, some batteries, USB hubs and several webcams. We did a quick search for Flash-based panoramic image viewers and found a couple of good ones, although we have yet to try actually stiching together some images in to a panarama that we can view.
