Guest theeldergeek Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I have a large screen Dell laptop (XPS 1710) and have been using a variety of lap 'supports' for a while now, none of which really met my needs - either too small, too clumsy, too bulky or too 'untidy' looking in the lounge. Stumbled across eTray laptop tray. The portable desktop for laptop PCs recently, and decided to take the plunge and buy their largest 'e-tray'. Had it a few days now, and I have to say it is OK albeit a bit pricey for what you actually get. But, it fits the bill, is neatly made and seems well put together, so I'm happy. Took a while for the thing to arrive though, so if you do order, be prepared for that.
srochford Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Might be cheaper to get an "ordinary" bean bag tray - just found these with a quick search but I'm sure there are others: Buy Beanbag Lap Trays Online - candh.co.uk If it's not big enough, just glue a bit of MDF on top and job done :-)

It has to be aesthetically pleasing - bodge jobs are not allowed! I spent a long time searching, with DIY in mind, but in the end I thought I'd settle for something made by someone else that (hopefully) won't fall apart after a bit of use. Like I say, pricey, but seems to be made well.
Guest theeldergeek Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 someones going to be getting a refund and buying a lap tray lol nah, happy with this one. It is big enough for the lappie (which is a bit of a monster) plus I can use a mouse to the side of it. Thought about the 'conventional' bean trays (we use one for another much smaller laptop) but decided I'd go for ready-made as DIY is not my strong point.
