win 7 on bootcamp ?

Got Boot camp 3 ( so OS is snow leopard updated to 10.6.2 ) got windows 7 ultimate but whenever I try to install it I am getting 0x80300024 - the only thing I can find is to disconnect all other hard drives and let it install onto the one drive but I don't want to faff around disconnecting and re connecting drives just to get windows 7 installed - is there something else I can do ?

Strange. What version of Win7 are you using to do the install?

 

I didn't have a problem at all with x86. With x64 I had to hack around with the graphics driver a little bit, but that was before the compatibility update.

 

Aside from that, the first thing I would try would be to use BC Utility to remove the BC partition, and then recreate it. Sometimes when creating the partition, the permissions/formatting don't quite get set correctly and cause that error during installation.

32 bit windows 7 ultimate and yes have done that 4 times already using BC to remove and re create the partition which creates a FAT32 / ms dos partition, which I then format using the windows installer ie reboot and go through the windows 7 installer process and then when I get to the selection of disks it finds all my other disks , I select the BC partition and select format and click yes to the message about it doing some other bits and pieces and then I get that 0x80300024 error message.

 

2008 Mac pro with 4 drives ( one in each bay )
