CHR1S Posted March 23, 2010 Author Posted March 23, 2010 Thanks ahuxham, looking forward to playing tonight now!
Pete10141748 Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Despite the promise of the game opening up at chapter 11 I just couldn't take any more of it and returned it to Gamestation to get Battlefield Bad Co. 2 instead. So bitterly dissapointed with the whole thing I might have to get FF7 for my PC just to re-kindle my love for the FF series
ahuxham Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 I notice the majority of hard-core avid FF fans are absolute fans of FF7, I hated 7. VIII was the best there was, nothing else I've played has compared, the 3 hours fight with Ultima's forms at the end, the Summons, absolutely brilliant. I am enjoying 13, however it is getting very samey samey and linear, does wind me up a little.
Pete10141748 Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 It took me a while to like FF8 when I first got it, I was so in love with the materia system of magic/upgrades in FF7 that the new Junction/GF system didn't appeal, but after figuring out how to grow the GF's to really tweak the character's I really enjoyed it too, nothing beat the awesome feeling of entering a battle with a pre-emptive strike and winning without having to press a single button I love 7-10, hated X-2, haven't played the online ones, and now hated 13. I think the main reason I don't like them is the real-time element to the battles, I much prefer the turn-based style of play where you can think, plan ahead with tactics etc which also explains why I enjoyed Lost Odyssee and hated Infinate Undiscovery! lol

End of) XI @10/10 (Been playing it online for a few years and love it too bits, really get your teeth into the game, takes a long time todo anything, but the rewards are fantastic) XII @ 7/10 (Wasn't all that great, was fun to play, new battle system was enjoyable, side quests and hunts were awesome as well) XIII @ 10/10 (Love the game, CP/Roles, Story and "End Game" playability) XIII Versus @ ??/?? (Waiting for this release, including open maps, world maps and towns, should have the same role/CP as XIII which should be good)
CHR1S Posted March 23, 2010 Author Posted March 23, 2010 So once the crystalarium expands so you can learn every class do you just stick to the ones and improve them first or balance out with everything?
ahuxham Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 So once the crystalarium expands so you can learn every class do you just stick to the ones and improve them first or balance out with everything? After you finish the story, all Roles unlock, but your characters don't do well and they cost an absolute ton of CP to max, but its more the status's your looking for, all that +STR +MAG +HP, then get the Genjii glove to unlock one of the last trophys (Need todo 100,000+ damage in a single strike) and without the glove you can only get 99,999. Lots todo at the end, I will make sure XIII is another Platinum for my PSN id
CHR1S Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 So I should max out the original classes first and then pump the left over CP (If any) into the new unlocked classes?
ahuxham Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 So I should max out the original classes first and then pump the left over CP (If any) into the new unlocked classes? Yes, and good luck pumping the unlocked classes, as the CP requirement is massive, they're not there as a default for a reason But should give you something todo end of game Just waiting a bit now to get my Helter Skelter upgrade item, 11hours, Chapter 7, maxxed roles so far!
Pete10141748 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 If you complete all of the Cie'lith missions then at the end you get the "Growth Egg" accessory which gives you massive amounts of bonus CP for each fight you do, plus you'll gain a fair bit of CP by doing all the missions as well. But yeah, if you want to get max out all characters get ready for hours and hours and hours of grinding away.
CHR1S Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 Cie'lith missions? the ones where you have to complete the unfinished tasks?
ahuxham Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 yeah there's about 55 of them I think Theres 65, and trust me, they aren't that easy. Chocobo is unlocked when you finish Mission 14
CHR1S Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 What really annoys me atm is that you can start a battle fight it until almost the very end with no issues then have the leader killed with one hit.... grrrr
ahuxham Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 What really annoys me atm is that you can start a battle fight it until almost the very end with no issues then have the leader killed with one hit.... grrrr I assume you've fang in the party? Make sure if there are powerful single blow attacks, make sure Fang or Snow are in SEN mode with someone running MED, its all about fast switching of para's as well. Changing into SEN, the first move is Provoke, which should keep the heat off your leader, just make sure the SEN isnt the leader, if the SEN dies, the MED should revive, and if its going really bad, summon an Eidolon(sp)? which will raise everyone and fully heal the party
CHR1S Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 I think its a fight im not supposed to win at the level I am, cant remember the name of the mob but its something king/boss.
ahuxham Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I think its a fight im not supposed to win at the level I am, cant remember the name of the mob but its something king/boss. What chapter is this boss/monster on?
CHR1S Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 Chapter 11, its the Behemoth King and I tried to kill him as soon as I got there... prob not the best idea lol
ahuxham Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Chapter 11, its the Behemoth King and I tried to kill him as soon as I got there... prob not the best idea lol Ahh, you'll find alot of Chapter 11 mobs you cannot kill, they are overpowered really, you need to finish 11/12 than come back and smash them up, some you can kill, some you simply cannot, yet at least
CHR1S Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 Ive found me some good CP grinding in Chapter 11 and ive maxed my chars 3 main roles at 4. Im now grinding the Mission 7 mob for the crowns and tiaras for gil I have 2 weapons waiting to be made ultimate and one on its way. Are there any other things I need to get while im here before I move on to the next area?

In Chapter 13, just before you fight the final boss, there is a floating male/female, talking to them sends you back to either area's. When you progress through Chapter 11, you will return to Cocoon, and you can't get back. Just spend some time farming and saving CP. To be honest, 11 can be very long if you want to get everything, just go with the flow, you can always come back, and even when you defeat the main boss at the end, you can still carry on. So nothings really missable. There are 64 of the Ce'ith Missions by the way, so that will keep your busy for a while
CHR1S Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 Cool, think its time to move onto the next area of 11 anyway, as all the missions are done there (think its 18 next)
CHR1S Posted March 31, 2010 Author Posted March 31, 2010 How many stages does the crystalarium have? I've just maxed out stage 9 for the 3 main roles for each character (Adamantoise farming @ chapter 11 ftw). Unfortunatly still had no trapezohedrons yet tho Thats all thats keeping me from the ultimate weapons. Do you think its over kill to start leveling up the other roles of the chars or should I save my CP for later?

Do you think its over kill to start leveling up the other roles of the chars or should I save my CP for later? There's 10 Stages for each Role. I'd focus on saving around 1M CP at a time now, and then unlocking their other roles. Well done on Adam farming How many Plat ingots you got so far from them? I'm on my second game in 11 now, doing these Ce'ith missions which I missed first time
CHR1S Posted April 1, 2010 Author Posted April 1, 2010 (edited) Ive had about 10/15 kills now and 1 plat drop, even with 5 stars and starred collectors catalogs its terrible! 40k CP is worth the 1 min 40 second fight when death spam works tho The TP farming after is annoying downtime but its another 10k+ CP for a couple of minutes fight.
