How do you guys deal with this? For example:

We don't want to outright block all translators as alot of the non english kids find them incredibly useful. Is there anything we can do to stop the kids accessing any website through this method?

Is it possible to do this in SW then Niles? I have been able to get around LEA blocks to assess websites for unblocking requests using Google Translator and it's only a matter of time before the kids learn the same trick.

our setup using surfcontrol and ISA will let the translate the first page, the minute they move off it/try to log in to facebook it just gives them a white page, youtube gets our website restricted page

While it's true any sites that require authentication will not work(facebook was a bad example), anything that doesn't will. Youtube works here.

Just seen this and it caused a minor panic, for me!!!

Then, I looked at it closely on our systems (Sophos Web Filter) and realised that students can get as far as that point, but no further!

Hmm, I'm only 6 weeks late here, but:

Yes. Deep URL filtering will stop the blighters in the first instance, and dynamic analysis for the remainder.
