Office 2010 to be released to businesses on 12th May!

For businesses, we will launch the 2010 set of products, including Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Visio 2010, and Project 2010 worldwide on May 12. ...which presumably means that for those of us on Software Assurance, that's they day we get it. This was the unexpected nugget of gold in a post in which Microsoft officially announced details of the Office Technology Guarantee, which basically means that if you buy Office 2007 between now and September, you get Office 2010 for free when it reaches general (public) availability in June.

I think they follow the same release schedules as SA customers, so yes, they should do.

Just in-time for a quick blast of pre-summer testing by staff before a summer roll out with Windows 7 I'd say I think that is a well timed launch, as exams will have stared so work loads for teaching has reduced allowing a bit more slack time in IT rooms to deploy it etc.
