Any suppliers able to quote us for our volume licence agreement (due end of April)? It's a MS School Agreement and computer quantity will be 340.

I'm not sure if a school agreement is best for us or there are any better alternatives which would equally suffice our needs for a cheaper cost?

Our last renewal described the order as "MS School Agreement Pack Level A" if that is any help.

If your a Specialist School & Academy's Trust (E.G. Tech College, Engineering College etc) then Ramesys do hold a Master Agreement with Ramesys for Microsoft, and other products such as Adobe.

But I will say from my own pricing experience that Ramesys were very easily beaten on our Schools Agreement again for the second year running as well, but they cannot be beaten on MS Select via the Specialist Schools agreement.

I got my agreement through Insight who provided the best price beating the Edugeek Sponsors I asked to price as well I'm afraid, but it is very much worth shopping around as I found a good few £ differences in the quotes.

tbf it just depends on how greedy the suppliers want to be - ms just charge them a fixed fee for everything and then what they put on top is pretty much profit. we have just done ours and we turned round to the guy and said the this one is 150 cheaper if u want the money knock the 150 off and its urs so he did!

Thanks for the info - very useful. We've been quite lazy in the past and always just renewed with RM, but it is best now (this year especially) that we seek alternate quotes from elsewhere so that we can both prove that we're not being ripped off and also to see if we can get it cheaper elsewhere (quite prepared to go with any reputable supplier that gives us a better price).

We're a specialist science college (but a normal secondary school); is that applicable to the above? Could we do better than a standard schools agreement?

Yup you will be part of the group and its a benefit of being part of them (your Specialist Schools Guru will have a ring binder full of benefits of being part of them and this is one of them - amazing how many schools don't know this is one!) So if your one of the schools that has any of the logos at the bottom of this site - https://www.ssatrust.org.uk/ as a specialism you should be eligible to use this benefit as far as I know.

My contact at Ramesys is Dave Wilner.

But do shop around as I did and found pricing to beat the ones I got from them at the time. In terms of what you get, they have bigger buy power in theory as the more they have the better it is with Microsoft etc, so you still want exactly what you have now (assuming your happy with the package you get) so you just renew with them.

To help you out, when talking to others to renew your agreement have to hand your current Subscriber / Agreement number to give them as they can then look up what you have currently and check it to ensure they renew the same stuff etc.

and if you would like to remove stuff from your schools agreement don't leave it too late this year we tried to remove project and visio from ours and they wouldn't let us as you have to give them 30 notice before it expires!
