threat management gateway setting

Hi,

 

I am just playing with TMG. In ISA server there was a setting you set to allow the traffic through just by pointing the client to the Default Gateway and not using any proxy settings. For the life of me I cant remember where it is or if they changed it in TMG.

 

Now I have to put the proxy settings in to get a connection. Can anyone point me in the right direction of the settings please?

Have you got a rule allowing http and https from the internal network to the external network. This should do it if it is like ISA.

yep done that. There is another check box some place to allow it without the proxy settings

On TMG? As far as I know there is no such box in ISA 2k6 as ours works fine with just the protocol allow rule.

actually there might have not been a tick box. It was that long ago i cant remember. The firewall rule is setup right.

I need the ability to get out to the network without putting the proxy details in the client.

Well there are 3 types of client in ISA:

 

* Webproxy client. - thus you need to configure webproxy setting in the internet explorer broser

* Firewall client - Need to config nothing. only need to install firewall client on workstation

* SecureNAT client - You need to configure your worksation with a default gateway that points to the internal NIC of the ISA box.

 

So i think you mean the secureNAT client ?

Well you need nothing for it The only thing you need to configure that the default gateway of your securenat client points to the internal nic of your isa box... thus the isa box should be you only way out to the internet.

tick the box in auto discovery under networking, networks, in there select your network then use the auto discovery tab.
