IE 7

I love Firefox, but also like the new IE7. Its mostly because of the tabbbed browsing, through our proxy using firefox some pages are restricted for some reason so ive reverted back to using IE7 in school.

 

But i loved the little red cross in firefox which closed which ever tab i was on, on IE7 it next to the current tab im on?

 

Does anyone know of a way or creating a batch file to close a single tab in IE7, as through group policy i can add in a new toolbar button and attache the batc script?

Proxy is not hosted here, its through an Imimic serve running redhat 6.

 

Quick tabs is a nice feature, i just find that the toolbar buttons are not quite in the right place for my likeing. I heard there was a classic tollbar view for IE7 but cant seem to find it, there no option to enable it.

On the subject of IE7 I like the multiple 'home pages'

 

You can do the same in FF as well if you put them in a folder and select open in tabs.

You can also do it with Firefox from the settings (and therefore group policies), you have to seperate each url with a comma I think (might be a space or a semi-colon though).

I like the way you can show a preview of each tab on one page in IE7, can you do this in Firefox? Maybe with an extension?

 

I don't like the placement of the buttons in IE7 so would be interested in a classic layout too.

Yes. there's an extension to do that for Firefox.

Yep - Ctrl Tab Preview and Fox Pager.

Thanks webman, I've gone with Ctrl Tab Preview. I didn't even know you could do that to change tabs before lol. They just need to implement a nice rotation animation in it now!

No problem. You can press Ctrl+W to close tabs, too
