Acer 8920 Dark screen

Hi hope some one can help??

 

I have an acer 8920, it been fine until the LCD screen has gone dark.

The pc is working as i have a external monitor hooked up to it.

I have been into screen resolution and all the setting are fine.

I have tried FN to adjust the brightness, no joy there, however when I press FN + F6 the screen lights up for a half a second then goes out.

I thought it maybe the inverter, so i changed that, still the same

It sounds like the light that actually lights up the screen has gone. If this is the case its a new screen.

Well there is ofcourse two areas to look, firstly the cable could be dodgy to, and both Inverters might have been good. Its by far the cheapest option to check before assuming it maybe the LCD, when i worked fixing laptops I never came across a screen that didnt light up that wasn't the inverters fault tbh but then you learn new things every day.

 

Try and "borrow" another matching laptop to test the parts.
