[wds] WDS Legacy and NVIDIA NIC's

I'm having trouble getting a Compaq 311 netbook to build from our WDS server i've got a feeling that it's a problem with the driver, i've tried all of the usual putting the driver in the right folder even copying it to i386 but it will not connect.

Can anyone suggest if this is possible with WDS legacy or am I going to have to try WinPE?

if its owt like older versions of ghost forget it nvidia dont do dos drivers in the end the nvidia pcs ive had to ghodt in the past ive shove old nics from dead pcs in

PXE boot over nvidia chips is rather slow, but we used to use winpe and ghost

I can't get it to work at all, I get the usual logon bit then it tells me there's no network driver

 

@ sted, I don't think RIS uses DOS drivers does it, it just runs windows setup and uses the win32 driver.

 

I think I might give Clonezilla a go i've used it to clone single laptops a few times I might give it a go over the network tomorrow.

ris uses an os that it mentions when it first loads doesnt it? but then it is probly based on dos!

Yes that's what I thought, don't think it's DOS though it's the win32 setup prog.

but it dosent use xp /vista/7 drivers and thats about all nvidia do

As above comment - disable onboard NIC and use a dedicated intel one ??

I used a Clonezilla USB drive in the end to image it to a CIFS share, it worked very well
