Hi All,

I'm trying to find out if this is possible using Moodle;

The idea is for each pupil to have their own web page.

Parents can log in and see what work they have done and the pupils can add items to it, design it (colours) etc. Pupils will see their home page when they log in and then access their emails (via a link to google).

Ideally we also want to put up supplementary information for each subject for each year so parents and teachers can access it.

Is this possible?! if so, how?

thanks

another +1 for mahara.

Also consider signing up for google apps - 7gb storage per user, email, docs, groups, and personal eportfolio webpages - all setup with AD sync.

you could just use the sites feature if you don't want mail etc.

edit: also has a moodle integration module

You seem to want several things in one if I read you right - the MyMoodle option gives a student a (slightly but not much) customisable page of their work and courses that they see when they login. (Moosdle 2 will do this much better btw) Or students can be given teacher rights on their own course page for them to personalise as they see fit - some schools use this as a sort of eportfolio workaround. Parental access is an issue ibn whatever situation though - by all means investigate the Moodle parent role link highlighted above but it is very arduous to set up as it all has to be done manually. If you want to put up supplementary information for each subject for parents to see then you could edit the course category pages which should be (unless your Moodle is totally locked) visible without logging in) -ie. add information about English to the English course category page asssuming your subject depts are categories.
