PS3 HDD Upgrade

OK, I have a PS3 (fat) with a 40GB HDD I'm looking at upgrading.

My question is has anyone got any recommendations for an HDD upgrade?

I put a 500Gb 2.5" SATA WD Blue in my PS3 - worls a treat

I'm pretty sure the default drives are 5400rpm, but you could install a 7200rpm for faster loading times

Cheers for the replies guys (can't thank in here) I decided to go for this one

I looked at the difference between the 5400 and the 7200 rpm drives at best a 2 sec increase sometimes no difference

+1 I have this one in mine as of Friday.

 

Very easy to upgrade the HDD. Just make sure you have a Fat32 external HDD to backup all your data.

yea whats with the fat32 only on the ps3 i had to break out the swiss army knife on my 500gb HD

 

I have a larger sata drive waiting to go in but i am waiting for the 40gb to die first.

 

Its been in for 2 years now and it gets some stick so im sure it will die soon
