I thought I'll ask, just encase anyone else has heard anything. Basically, I logged a call with Capita and dropped an email to the person I thought was going to get it. We it turns out he's moved to a new project. After a bit of asking around a few other people have "disappeared" and no one is saying anything... the most I've got is from Phil say, all will be revealed soon and it won't be out of a while (so I take that as about 3 yrs in Capita speak ;)) Question is, if it isn't anything PX, SLG, Assessment, Sysman7, extend services (the list goes on).... what could it be?

Ideas? Peeked my interest to say the least. Better be good however!!

One assumes that you are talking about SIMS Discover.

Check the Twitter account for Graham Cooper.

(Can't post the URL here at the moment as our Broadband provider blocks Twitter!)

Or could it be the new NT4 type reporting? The first phase (I attended the intial testing but cannot attend the next testing or the Spring UAT) is due out in (I believe) Spring.

Nova\Timetable reports are in next release. So it's not that.

Matthew I assume that you already know about Discover and our Proof of Concept. There is another development that will be announced shortly but we are being exceptionally careful to ensure that we cannot be accused of "preannouncement".

Perhaps they're all working on a version of SIMS that works properly? No, too much to hope for...

I wonder why it works 'properly' here ...................

could it be that capita are playing catch-up with the other mis providers..... ;)

Oooooooooooo!

Now I wonder whose MIS you use? Could it be one of those that does not even date stamp the data, or the one that does not even store pupil addresses in the correct format, or the one that quite a lot of our staff managed to escape from in previous schools, or ..... ????

Or maybe you are not even a school at all! There is certainly not much detail attached to your profile!

Im someone who has used several of the major mis systems in a school environment and currently supports many schools with different systems... I AM trying to give you all a clue...

In that case you should know how very, very, very GOOD SIMS is .............. :D

And why hide behind clues? Got something to hide? If I think Capita have got something wrong then I tell 'em - personally. No need to make snide comments behind their back!

SIMS certainly is a very good MIS... I totally agree...

This comment seems to be a little at variance with:-

Do I spy a capita employee - lets face it ALL MIS systems have their issues and none of them are brilliant.

Though I guess you will, no doubt, quantify the difference between 'very good' and 'brilliant'.

I retract my statement above and replace it with:- 'SIMS is Brilliant!'

it could be nothing more that the Roadmap for 2010 which we have yet to see..........

It could be 'owt - including Phil's 'Vision for the Future' using Apple type Technology, or even Cloud Technology - but that stuff ain't secret, as far as I am aware!
