Quackers Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 We run lots of clubs at lunch and after school, we would like a block on our frontpage that depending on what day of the week it is, lists the corrosponding clubs that are running. Is there any block out there at the moment that will do this? If not how do i remotely go about creating one my self, never done any block making for Moodle.
secretlife Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I can't think offhand of one but have you done a search in the Moodle downloads tab at the modules and plugins database - 600 entries -there might be something there Moodle.org: Modules and plugins

If you can let me know your full requirements I can write it for you. If your ok with having the information stored in a csv file i will do it for free. if you wanted a more complicated version there might be a nominal charge because it would take longer.
secretlife Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Actually quackers - you could use the random glossary block -as long as you set the entries to "Next" rather than random and then have your club dates in the right order it should work.
Edu-IT Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 But that wouldn't display on the relevant day automatically would it?
secretlife Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 if you set it to 1 day before each entry is chosen, and you set the entries to next, then it should immediately display whatever your first entry is (ie, for that day) and then in 24 hours' time will display the next entry which you should have set up for tomorrow etc etc
