Paid_Peanuts Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I thought some guru on here may be able to shed some light on this one. I have an Epson EB-X6 which has had the code entered incorrectly more than 30 times by a member of staff!!!! Now it is "hard locked" according to Epson. So I have spoken to Epson and given them serial number, address etc and now Epson want £195 to take it away and sort it out!!! Surely someone out there knows how to resolve this without having to pay £195 for the privildge! Damn thing is less than a year old - probably only has about 400 lamp hours! Has anyone had this before and managed to sort it? Your help grately appreciated!
hullpete Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 unplug the power cable from the back of the projector , leave it for 5-10 mins then plug it back in, this should reset the projector and enable you to re enter the pin, let me know how u get on pete
Paid_Peanuts Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 that only works upto the first 30 attempts! then it locks itself for good!
hullpete Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 looks like you will probably have to send it back to epson then im afraid,, how did the teacher manage to enter a code incorrectly 30 times! ,, nightmare!
Paid_Peanuts Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 I ain't paying £195 for some epson engineer to connect a USB cable for 2 mins! The bulb will be removed and the projector launched hard into the skip i think then!
hullpete Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 have you looked on the net to see if there is any downloadable software u could use ?
JJonas Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I dont think you will find anything as this is a theft deterent measure. If it was possible for an end user to unlock the hard lock then there would be no theft deterent. Having said that if anybody does know I how to remove a hard lock from an Epson projector I would be interested in knowing.(just in case)
Paid_Peanuts Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 No I can't seem to find any. Didn't know if there were any ex Epson employees on here
Paid_Peanuts Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 But JJonas you can enter BIOS passwords on PC's but if you know what your doing you can get round those!
psbresner Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Has anyone ever found a solution? We have a projecter thats locked out too. Thanks Paul
