KWestos Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 We had a power cut last night. Now some users cannot access the internet (regardless of the machine). All the proxy settings are there, refreshed policy, etc, but still no internet. Can anyone point me in the right direction
bossman Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 @KWestos: Daft question I know but in light of the incident it begs to be asked, "Is the proxy server switched on?" 1
tommccann Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 We had a similar problem and the phone line had broke due to the powercut so get BT or who ever to confirm its still working and they can see you switches
chazzy2501 Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 On a fluffed machine: 1: check it's ip address. 2: ping your PDC/DNS 3: ping gateway 4: ping Google (should resolve to an ip address and ping away) any of those fail and you've found your culprit. (unless 2 & 3 block icmp:) 1
