Removing Sparklebox Toolbar

Hello all,

 

In addition to the KS1 Sparklebox Remover, I have also created a KS2 Sparklebox Remover!

 

Facts (KS1) -

- Tested on XP SP3 with IE8 installed

- Comes in MSI format

- The contents of C:\Program Files\Sparklebox will be deleted. Only the folder Sparklebox will remain

- Sparklebox Toolbar entry within Add or Remove Programs will remain. When highlighted manually you'll be prompted to remove it from the list

- The IE Add-ons will be deleted

- Google will be set as the hompage when done!

Just a heads up for anyone who didnt know this.

 

I recently found out that if you use Sopho Enterprise Manager 3.0 to manage your antivirus, within there there is an application blocker section. Within this you can block toolbars which your staff members may install without your authorisation.

 

If you add them into the global list. If anyone installs the toolbar (most common we have is google/yahoo toolbar), Sophos will prevent it running.
