Edu-IT Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Has the 'RepGen' option been removed in SIMS? I've got .DBF file which I need to import but the software is SO old it looks like the instructions were created for an early version of SIMS, when there was only one computer in an office running it. I know what data I need, and I how I want it, but I just don't know how to get it and if I can still this this 'DBF RepGen file' or not.
krtek Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I'm afraid that I doubt that you will have much joy current report definintion files have the extension .rpt.def the dbf files went out some time ago Regards Dave
Jeremy69 Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I think it will still work. We have one workstation with Launcher on and each year it produces a report from the old dbf system using Repgen Lite because the archive is (crazily) not available in .net. However it will be useless for anything recent as once the dbf database was transferred across to .net no updating of dbf takes place so it is heaven knows how much out of date.
Edu-IT Posted January 11, 2010 Author Posted January 11, 2010 Thanks for the replies. So running a report today through Launcher using the old 'RepGen Lite' would not produce up to date information? It's for IEP's so SEN data.
PhilNeal Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Absolutely not! RepGenLite is looking at DBFs which haven't been updated by the current software for many years.
Edu-IT Posted January 11, 2010 Author Posted January 11, 2010 Phil, do you know how the latest version of IEP Writer fetches data?
