Hello all,

Happy New Year! Mozilla have released their latest and greatest update to Firefox, version 3.5.7. New MSIs have been created and tested. The remaining Logistix Packs will be available next week.

For your reference, all types of update packs now come in smaller WinRAR format. This allows for better compression, but also allows technicians on slower internet connections to download multiple, smaller files rather than single larger files.

To download the files, please navigate to logistixonline.com and click on 'File Library'. The rest is self explanatory and all files come with instructions and dates when files were published

The following updates are available:

Logistix Google Earth 5.1 MSI (Last Updated December 09)

Logistix Office 2007 Compatibility (Last Updated October 09)

Logistix Plugins Plus (Updated December 09)

Logistix Windows XP SP3 Post Updates (Updated December 09)

Logistix .NET Framework (Last Updated October 09)

Logistix Firefox 3.5.7 Lockdown (Last Updated January 10)

Michael,

I realise the usefulness of the .rar files but is there anyway you could still put up the full archive for those of us with connections that can handle them?

I download in work for use in work so can grab them pretty speedily.

Appreciate the hard work,

Gareth

Hi Gareth,

Unfortunately the limit (as with most hosting providers) is to limit the maximum file size to 64MB, so I am unable to upload as one giant file. It does also help schools around the country with slower broadband connections. The only other tip I can offer is download the latest version of WinRAR. It's coded to support dual processors so unpacking files will be considerably quicker and manageable.

Logistix Plugins Plus (Updated January 10) - This includes the long awaited Adobe Reader 9.3.0 Security Update. I've decided to leave updating XP until next month, as only one small security update was published :)

Everything else remains unchanged, although I suspect there will be a new IE Security Update in the works very soon...

Hi Michael,

It's no problem. I leech the school bandwith :-) I just thought I would ask. The packs are great. I did have problems with the Google one the other month, not tried it since.

I'm tempted to give the Firefox one a go as well.

Many thanks

Gareth

The Google Earth 5.1 file was added late last year. It might have been an older version when you downloaded it. If you could try the newer version and let me know how it goes that'd be great :)

Hi Michael,

Not sure if you will read this over the weekend but the site isn't letting me download. I can click on the files, my browser goes to save but then downloads 0Kb before telling me the download is finished.

Any ideas?

Gareth

Hi Gareth,

There was a glitch found with the downloads however I can confirm everything's now back online. Thank you also for identifying a problem with the Google MSI. Again I can confirm it now works fine deploying with Active Directory :)
