We have in the last couple of weeks removed a number of websites that were causing slowness off the filtering system.

By adding these to the allow or block lists, depending on the LA's choice, it increases the speed of access for everyone.

The speeds individual schools and users get may be dependent on where you are within your own local authority network.

Strangly the internet seems to be working rather well at the moment, so I'm not complaining :).

I'm currently at one of the primaries so we are right at the end of the line.

 Jeeeeees! Thats slooooooooooooooooow!

Bit of an unfair test as remember our students are using it. however even if i run the test at 5pm. we still only get about 6mb each way.

not good for 700 pc's 100 laptops...:getmecoat:

Different local authorities have different set ups for their internal networks.

It may be worth inquiring as to where you are located on your network, as some may be quite a few links away from the main hub to YHGfL.

I have done. They state there is nothing we can do and they are looking at upgrading us.

However they are tendering for a new EDIT in January so cannot advise me anymore till they know what they are doing.

In January they are starting a trial to push out 100mb lines. However this could be a 2 year role out plan.

Yeah I know it, I dont live too far away (Halfway) I actually applied for a job there not too long ago. Needless to say I didn't get it :).

Do you know Justin then? I've met him a few times as he did some SIMS work for AGS and Westways some time back.
