[hosting] Joomla

Trying to get my daughter into web development/design just so she has another feather in her 'media' hat, and think that Joomla would be a good way for her to go seeing as it so widely used these days.

 

Appreciate that there is a 'coding' side to web development, but that isn't a route she is interested in going down, hence why I think a Joomla route would be good for her.

 

Hosting?

 

Evohosting look good, plenty of features to go with the 'Home' package.

 

Joomla Wired also seem to be an attractive option, but slightly less for your beans.

 

Looking for good, quick technical support when it all goes wrong with a good mix of package features and bang for my buck.

 

Anyone got any dealings with these two, or maybe another host they could recommend?

Just a note that it is well worth getting into the basics of HTML/CSS, as it's a huge advantage to be able to switch to code in WYSIWYG editors for fine tuning and understand what other people are going on about in webby meetings.

Thanks for the offer James, much appreciated, but unfortunately one of the sites intended on being 'developed' is a also for a family business, so there is a commercial interest there which probably breaks your 'AUP' so to speak.

 

May well be in touch with you myself though, as I really do need to crack this Joomla 'thing' at some point in my geeky life.

Is there a specific Joomla forum within Edugeek do you know? I'm still finding forums I didn't know existed even after 3 years on the site!
