MW2 - Annoying me now!!

Dont get me wrong, I love this game but on the 360 its starting to get on my wick!!

 

Ive played CoD since day one, on PC then onto 360, I know im a pretty good player but MW2 seems to have some bad code in there or just cant deal with multiplayer at all.

 

Im so frustrated by the lag issues im getting to the point of stopping playing - How is it that on my screen I fire a whole clip into the enemy player only for them to run right at me and stab me? On kill cam I havent even fired a single shot!

 

Or the new one is waiting for someone to walk past and stab them, well I stab and nothing happens they spin round and stab me, I respawn and then my char does the stab animation!

 

I have a 10Mb VM connection all to my self, I get the issue in or outside of peak times againsed any opponent, my 360 sits in my DMZ so whats left? VM doing there DPF and assuming im a pirate because im using P2P?

I had 512kb broadband when I played CoD1 and never had any issues with lag back then!

you might have 10mb line to yourself, but whats the contention ratio? Also whats the latency?

 

I would have thought the issue was with VM rather than MW2

Im always showing as full on the ping thing (you know the green bars ) I never had issues with MW or WAW.

 

How would you test it for latency over P2P? and with contention how can you tell? I always get on average 1170kbps download speed day or night.

I would say i would swap back to PC and use dedicated servers but....oh wait there are none! They may be aiming at the "casual" gamer on the 360 like me but even I can tell that it sucks!

haha, for PC, yes, agreed, u need dedi servers, xbox, no, works well on xbox

I'm finding BC2 muuuuuuuch more enjoyable, and much better generally [except their lobby system is rather rubbish hehe]

 

And no, before u ask, I havent only played recent ones, I've played them all the way back to the first one on the PC too

I play on PC here and always up for organised teams. You can find me on Steam as Rikev in the group.

 

It's a good game but let down by the P2P system as even if you have a great connection, you only benefit if you are host. Then you get the lag free host advantage otherwise you are at the mercy of the limited speeds of a home network. Needless to say Treyarch have learned from the IWNet failure and are making the Black Ops sequel not just dedicated servers but with extra features for PC players. As it should be really as PCs have a lot more power that can be harnessed for extras!

 

Unfortunately MW2 is steadily becoming riddled with more and more hackers.

 

BC2 isn't bad but they screwed up their server browser to the point it doesn't work and a lot of admins are juvenile idiots insistent on restricting weapons on ranked servers (which is against the TOS).

Thats what lets FPS [and other types of online] games down on the PC really.... theres always something making it rubbish for everyone else - whether it be player reasons or developer reasons

 

Tho i suppose that can be true of console online gaming too... but thankfully hacking isnt really that possible [i hope hehe]

Think I've just seen my first aim bot on xbox live! Sniper facing away from me jumped off the roof spun 180 and headshot me perfectly! One in a million fluke or they are out there now

search youtube for 1440 collateral. People have perfected that art a while ago. Its worse on PC as you can spin faster

Don't need an aimbot on the console, its built in to compensate for a shoddy controller system
