mac_shinobi Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Gone to the below site Windows Server 2008 R2 only a vhd which I cant for the life of me get to work and just want a trial of server 2008 iso or something I can get to work in vmware or virtual box. Need it so I can faff around with printers / printer drivers etc for work - simon or anyone ??

kmount Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Tends to happen if you're installing a 64bit version of the OS (Guest) on a host which doesn't have virtualization support enabled/available. (Check the BIOS if this could be the case)

VT must be on in the bios.... Also, not a true statement: 64bit guests require 64bit hosts. Edited November 24, 2009 by Theblacksheep because its wasnt right!

mac_shinobi Posted November 25, 2009 Author Posted November 25, 2009 Got it working now on vmware server but stuck on DNS - I know I can use nslookup to test forward reverse lookups ie hostname to ip address and visa versa and found guides on google etc but still a bit stuck - if anyone can point me to what I need to post back so as to give you a better idea of what I need to change / configure etc then let me know and I can post back event viewer or other info if needed Thanks
