[fog] Frustrating FOG error

While trying to upload an image to the fog server i keep getting this error.

 

* unable to move /images/dev/macaddress to /images/name-of-image

 

all signs from google point to it being a permissions error.

 

I followed these instructions to try and fix it which didn't do the trick. I then changed the permissions of /images to full read/write for everyone to see if that worked and still no joy, the temporary .000 isn't even being created.

 

Has anyone seen this before or have any idea of something to try ?

I remember i had to change ownership of the images fodler to the fog user account it creates on the linux install.

yeah i've chown'd it to the fog user which apparently should be the answer but it's still not playing ball..

had already done that via the UI, just re-ran it incase and still getting the same error....

Are you sure you've enough free space? (Unlikely to be the case, but it's a possibility.)

I should have but it's definitely worth looking at so I'll do that today

What OS are you trying to image / what version?

 

If you're totally sure it's not a permission thing, then you could be trying to do something wild like Image a Windows 7 machine with an OLD version of FOG that doesn't properly support W7.

For future reference - the 'unable to move' error can be caused by defining the image type as 'single partition' for a machine with multiple partitions. Just change the image type to 'multiple partition image' to sort it.

I never could get single partition images to work. I always used multiple partition images. Even on machines that allegedly had single partitions.

Just to add more confusion - I only ever used single partition images, and had no problems with it.
