Hi

Got a issue with warranty with Acer.

We have a laptop with 3 years warranty which we purchased 2 years ago. I purchased it with the aceradvantage pack. I thought I registered the warranty with Acer as I got an email back from them to say my aceradvantage pack was registered with the Laptop serial no.

I kept the email and thought that would be enough if we needed to use the support.

Now 2 years later the time has come to have it repaired due an issue. I found the email with the acer advantage register email. Phoned support up but they need me to go to the aceradvantage website and put in the aceradvantage details in along with a password.

I didn't keep the original acer advantage packs because I thought I had all the information I needed in the email.

Do I have any grounds to appeal with Acer?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I am suprised with how much is involved just to register a warranty with Acer. I think they purposely make it difficult so when it comes to claim if the customer misses any little part out they cannot claim.

Thanks

I would've thought the e-mail, and proof of purchase of the pack would be enough... But, you know what they can be like... Actually, doesn't the e-mail contain exactly the same info as the card bits (I kept ours anyway, but I'm sure it did) I'll have a look at ours in a second.

We had this issue and they requested we fax them a copy of the original invoice with the laptop and warranty on so they could update their records. This was actually done fairly quickly which is quite rare for Acer support.

If you buy an acer pc such as an n260g with a 1 year warranty and purchase a monitor at the same time the normal 3yr warranty on the monitor is downgraded to 1yr.
