Please help me!! (HP OFFICEJET PRO 8500)

Hi

I have recently installed a HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer onto my system.

The printer does work and allows me to use it but for some reason when it is connected it completely slows down the system to a point where it can barely be used...?!

I have enough RAM in my system (4GB) and also I don't have any programs open so there isn't anything to slow it down???

This is really puzzling me so... if anyone has any ideas please throw them at me !!!

(Also I am using Windows XP professional SP3)
