kearton Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Anyone else liking the look of the Nokia N900 which uses the linux-based Maemo operating system? http://www.nokia.co.uk/PRODUCT_METADATA_0/Products/Phones/N-series/N900/images/n900_features_main_490x258.png
Quackers Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I've been waiting for this phone for weeks, was suppost to be out on the 30th October, then its been delayed by a few weeks, with many sites saying 16th November for release date. I'm tempted to book Friday 17th of work to go the Nokia store in London to buy it, if it does get released then. Annoyed, the £500 is sitting in bank waiting to spend.... Loved the Video of them playing Multiplayer Quake III on it.
truslack Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Has anyone else got one then? Mine is on order from mobilephonesdirect, they reckon it will be delivered on Monday! It looks like a decent bit of kit, though I am aware there are quite a few bugs in the OS at the moment.
neon Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Anybody seen or got one of these? They look pretty cool... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlpQD79YgNk]YouTube- Nokia N900 Mobile Phone - unboxing & overview[/ame]
AndySimmo Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 i'm waiting for the one in star trek when they decide to release it or even announce it haha
kearton Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 (edited) Nokia N900 Review - El Reg Hardware Quackers/truslack... did either of you get yours yet? Edited January 6, 2010 by kearton
truslack Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I got mine, it's a great piece of hardware, but the software (being brand new) has a few quirks that will need to be worked out. I'll post a bit more about it when I have a minute or 2 spare. 1
kearton Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 Thanks to whoever merged my original thread (which was in the Phones/PDA forum) with Neon's one in General Chat. However, shouldn't it be back in the Phones forum??
kearton Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 I got mine Did you get it direct from Nokia? Or from one of the networks? (If so, which one if you don't mind me asking)

If you can live without MMS, the N900 is my best phone (well PC) yet. Just goto youtube and search for N900 for loads of interface videos. I've had a game of Quake III multiplayer with somebody on a PC and me on my N900 that was fun.
