IE8 Uninstall doesnt fix problems

Our MIS is web-based, and it works fine in IE7 and firefox. However in IE8 there is a key menu on the right which doesnt get shown. Running IE8 in compatability mode doesnt let it display either.

 

Ive tried rolling back IE8 to IE7, and even reinstalling IE7 after the rollback, but this missing part still doesnt display.

 

They provide us with the server for the package and all the management and stuff of it is all outsourced to them otherwise I would delve into the CSS and stuff and see if I could fix it myself. (Im told they are working on a fix but have no ETA)

 

IE8 is obvioulsy leaving something behind that is screwing this up. Is there any way I can completely clean out all IE8 and have it working like IE7 was before IE8 went on..

Hmm, Strange i dont think anything is left behind when you uninstall IE 8 it just reverts back to IE 7 and Re-applys all the security updates could it be an Add-On that was installed on the browser that might be causing the problem?

Ive already thought of that, tried disabling all addons.. tried reinstalling flash..

 

Am just about to reinstall java see if that makes a difference.

 

Am at a loss to figure this out to be honest.

Just rolled back IE8 to a machine that had IE6 previously, and the same is happening. About to put IE7 onto that to see what happens

I've seen some settings stick in IE, even when just upgrading from 6 to 7. You might try resetting the browser to see if it changes anything.

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset

That didnt work either..

 

I noticed today though that IE8 on Win7 is able to display the page OK, just not ie8 on xp ... strange
