Well at least they thought about compatibility!

 

I'm quite looking forward to rolling this out across my network.

 

So at what point will they ever move it to Version 7 then?

Less about compatibility and more about a lazy way to make most non 7 specific stuff install, even if it doesn't work.

I would prefer that than have to click on compatability mode for all the install wizards!

...with an emphasis on setup programs, were tailored to a specific Windows version. In this context, an application or a driver that is hard coded for Windows Vista will fail miserably to install or run under Windows 7, if the operating system features version 7 for its code.

 

Seems almost laughable. Maybe setup programs shouldn't be 'hard coded' into any OS. Making an application compatible over numerous Windows platforms makes a lot more sense.

Difficult when they contain different C and .net libraries along with the usual api/dll changes.
