Is anyone using Sage for finance – any other off the shelf package?

Our bursar is asking me to replace "WCBS (West Country Business Systems) called PASS" finance package. Is anyone using Sage for finance – any other off the shelf package?

We are an independent school and use Sage Accounts and sage Payroll.

 

The bursar loves it and their support is fantastic

 

Very helpful people on thier support line, based in North East England (judging from their accents) who are able to pitch their responses at the technical level of whoever they are talking too. They cope equally well with my lack of financial knowledge and the Bursar not being particularly IT literate.

 

We have a single user license for both products; they are installed locally with data on the server. I have just moved the Burasr to a new PC and I had no qualms about ringing their support desk to make sure my intended method of doing the move was not going to result in me failing to be paid.

 

As you can tell, I'm a big fan of Sage and wish the other support desks I had to deal with were as good.

We use Sage - it's still the DOS version! Our finance team seem stuck on it and don't want to upgrade!

You won't have a support contract on that then. We've just done an upgrade as our 3 year old version is going out of support at the end of year. Payroll has to be updated annually to allow for taxation changes each year.

We use sage line 50 - ironically we're also looking to move to WCBS PASS Finance package.

We use Sage Payroll and Sage Accounts for various private funds. Support is reassuringly good and significantly reduces consumption of dried frog pills.
