Students bypassing Screen Lock in First Security Agent. How?

I have First Security Agent software installed on a class set of laptops (WinXP). I've got the display settings locked however the little darlings are bypassing this and installing their own screen savers and desktops. I can't figure out how they're doing it! I can't change them back to default settings as the system is locked! I have to log back in as the administrator and unlock the display settings before I can change anything.

 

I have googled the problem and there is a registry change that can do this however I doubt these year 7 girls even know what the registry is let alone know how to change it.

 

Any ideas on how they are doing this/how I can stop them? :

Everytime we challenge one of the kids they deny doing it! we've tried inducements & threats without success!!

You have to catch them off guard maybe get someone else to ask them.

Are they using the 'set as desktop background' options in IE or Paint.

 

Are these machines stand alone or are they on a network. DO users have their own accounts?

They are stand alone machines and the students do not have their own accounts.

Or in 'My Pictures' you get the option to save to desktop.

I don't know if it'll play ball with your first security doofer, but Microsoft do a free download called Steadystate. It lets you writeprotect user's profiles so no changed are saved when they log off. You could also use a mandatory profiles ot achive the same effect. They'll still be able to change the wallpaper but it'll disapear when someone logs off.
