DVD Recorders

We are looking to put a DVD recorder in the staff resources room so staff can record TV programs, with the demise of VHS most of them can no longer do this at home.

 

Can anyone recommend a make and model thats reliable and reasonably easy to use ?

I've got a Panasonic HDD/DVD recorder combo at home that works well, but at school we have Clickview 24/7.

I would recommend the Panasonic range of DVD (HDD/DVD) recorders.

 

They support all the DVD media types +R/RW, -R/RW, DL and even DVD-RAM.

 

I have one at home.

 

DVD models (especially older Panasonic Models, DMR-EX27 or 28, i think) can be sourced for £100 (Try richer sounds). The models with HDD/DVD are approx £165 upwards. Again look at Richer Sounds, as they are cheap and offer the Multi-Region versions that may be handy if playing Region 1 etc DVDs.

 

Just one thing to remember, DVD/HDD can only record one channel at a time, the twin tuners are usually only in Freeview HDD only recorders.
