I knew I should have stayed in bed this morning - got a stinking cold or something and feeling like death but came in anyway to do some work.

Anyways, I've created a Win XP image today but forgotten to set Do not show hidden files, Hide extensions for known file types, and Hide protected operating system files (recommended) back to their defaults before copying the profile over the default user......! D'oh! So now when I use the sysprepped image the users when they've logged on now get to see hidden files etc.

:censored:

I'm too hacked off now to go back to my pre-sysprepped image and do it again and I can't think straight. Is there a quick way to put these setting right as I'm only talking 8 PCs?

Many thanks.

Despite the fact the staff and kids are blubbing because they have no computers?

Yes. Give them chalk & slate. Very Social Interactive Web 2.0 because students can pass slates around between the group, and invite others to contribute to their drawings using their own coloured chalks.

.Reg is a good bloke, he manages to fix lots of things for me.

He has a work mate called Script, they work together quite well.

As for your problem, [ which .reg has already fixed for you] if can be sorted via a policy too.

Thanks for the input guys. Now I'm confused and hacked off as the .reg merge doesn't have any effect (and yes, I did it properly and I rebooted!). Looks like I'm going to have to tweak the group pol instead.
