Unsuitable Google Image - Removal Denied

Has anyone had a problem with getting a google image search removed? I have reported an image twice, and both times they have been denied, with google giving their usual unhelpful reason:

The webpage or image you submitted is not currently appearing in our search results. We weren't able to find this webpage or image in our index. We encourage you to double-check that you submitted the correct URL.

 

The webpage or image you submitted is already filtered by SafeSearch. This page or image isn't currently appearing in our search results with SafeSearch enabled. We encourage you to double-check that the appropriate SafeSearch option is enabled.

Is there any way to dispute this? In my opinion, a Strict image search of an innocent phrase should not result in a cartoon naked clown! Do they have have an "it's art, so is allowed" rule?

Block the image using your friendly local web filter?

If you give me the URL or the search phrase i will make sure that it is clean for Smoothie users, at least.

In America, allegedly the land of the free, cartoon artwork is not classed as pornographic regardless of what depicts. Therefore Google has no reason to do anything about this image.

 

If the image is obviously illegal according to UK laws, report it to the IWF. This will result in your ISP filtering the image.

 

If the image is not illegal either filter it locally (if you have a filtering proxy onsite, and you should) or ask your RBC to filter it for you (they should offer this service).

We don't have a local web filter. We use the EMBC web filter provided for Northants schools.

 

I have PMd you with the search phrase. I don't want to post on the forums in case I get told off!

Certainly the image is unsuitable for a school environment, but conversely it is not illegal, so it looks like we are left with local filtering techniques as our only option.

 

EMBC may be able to block the URL of the thumbnail and the original URL. SmoothWall users will find the original URL is now classified as "adult" - this will block google's thumbnail too.

I have reported the relevant URL and search term to EMBC/Synetrix, so hopefully they can do something about it.

We don't have a local web filter. We use the EMBC web filter provided for Northants schools.

 

I would recommend to embc schools to request local control of filtering for occasions like this.

maybe the clown's a nudist , I don't think that's illegal - yet.
