I have a problem with group policy, the students account can log on perfectly fine, still needs locking down less but thats not a worry at the minute, im having trouble accessing the all programs, as soon as you click on it, it just does nothing at all! im guessing this is to do with group policy, im struggling as this is all new to me, im an ict technician but have little knowledge of servers, while i remembers its on windows server 2003 and the laptop trolley is running windows xp. Or is is to do with something else?

any help appreciated dan!

You can block the All Programs folder with Group Policy (this is best practice), which seems likely here - User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Start Menu and Taskbar/Remove All Programs list from the Start menu. Use Folder Redirection to instead send users to a network Start Menu with a set of programs they'll need on it.
