OpenFiler Shares

Afternoon all, I am playing around with openfiler and have been very impressed so far.

 

We have just had a suite of PCs installed in the music room and wanted some storage space for the files that the kids here would be creating. We decided to have a play around with Openfiler and i have it working with AD Authentication and have setup 2 shares which can be accessed by students and staff.

 

What my question is, is that i want to be able to setup multiple shares for individual users that only that user can access i.e. a home directory, and wanted to know if you can set permissions to folders for individuals rather than groups.

 

I have looked through the posts on here but haven't come across anything yet, but if i have missed something please point me in the right direction.

I'm sure you can apply users to a share as well as groups.

 

I'm not running OF anymore though so I can't check.

Can you not just use chown and chmod on the shared directory, or does it not use the systems file permissions? (I haven't used it before)
