bladedanny Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Hi just a quick question. Has anyone else had any trouble at all with the Sanyo XE-40 projector? Every school I work in (and some I don't) have had trouble with these projectors breaking on a regular basis. I clean the filters out once a week (some need it, some don't but its a schedule) Thanks, Dan
MbroTech Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 There is a known problem with the thermal trip cutting out which needs a manual reset inside the projector. There are some changes to the fan speed and temperature cut out that can be made in the Service Mode if you know what you are doing. If they are part of a Promethean installation (and maybe under warranty?) you might persuade them to come out and make the necessary changes. This particular model of projector has since been revised.
Richie1972 Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 We had this problem with three of these (or possibly XE-32s) within a few months of each other. All were replaced under warranty
Marc-Engineer Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 There have been some problems with them, but most should be still covred by your warrenty, the EX 32 had other problems dust for one, but the EX40 is a good projector and cheaper than the Epson equivelent. If you let me know your problems i will try to help your further, or i can give you a call on the phone, i am a projector Engineer and will not try to sell you anything or charge you for my help. If you let me know the serial numbers i will tell you if they are still under warenty. Marc Projector Engineer
