Popular Post AngryTechnician Posted October 8, 2009 Popular Post Posted October 8, 2009 Spotted this on the Sysinternals RSS feed this morning and thought it might come in handy for anyone planning a physical-to-virtual migration to Hyper-V soon (as I am). Disk2vhd Disk2vhd is a utility that creates VHD (Virtual Hard Disk - Microsoft’s Virtual Machine disk format) versions of physical disks for use in Microsoft Virtual PC or Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machines (VMs). The difference between Disk2vhd and other physical-to-virtual tools is that you can run Disk2vhd on a system that’s online. Sounds handy, haven't had a chance to try it out yet though. 7
tmcd35 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Nice one. My first Hyper-V server is due to go in this half term, timing couldn't have been any better
john Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Sounds great to me can make some nice VM from existing PCs for my testing setup
saundersmatt Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Thanks very much. We have just used this to move some legacy servers from vmware to hyper-v. Couldn't get any other P2V tools to work and this one was instant. Matt
