faza Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Hi All, I am creating an image for pupils. But the only problem is when users are logging there having to run through the IE8 initial startup process. Once they have competed it, the setup is not displayed again. Is there anyway i can stop this from happening. Faza
K.C.Leblanc Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 With IE7 you could download an ADM from microsoft that let you disable initial setup using group policy. You can probably do the same with IE8.

cookie_monster Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 On a PC with IE8 installed look in C:\WINDOWS\inf for inetres.adm, copy it to a DC then follow the instructions below. You can also do this from a client if you have the admin tools installed. Add or remove an Administrative Template (.adm file): Group Policy
ssiruuk2 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 The setting you want to enable to prevent the first time run pop up is: Admin Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer : "Prevent performance of first time run customised settings" > Enable (Once you have imported the IE8 ADM file) Hope that helps
