Hi,

I am looking for a good set of headphones to be used on my flight to and from Australia in a couple of months. The total flight time one way is around 20hours, so i want some decent headphones to use when watching the films. I would like something that can cut out allot of background noise, be comfortable. I don't want to break the bank but i don't mind shelling out abit.

What recommendations do you have please?

Thanks

Are you wanting noise cancelling features?

I have a pair of these and they are really the best headphones I've ever owned. They are absolutely fantastic on long flights, I've had several 10+ hour flights with them removing much of the engine noises!

the headphones that come with sony erricson phones are very good, the in-ear headphones.

if you want good headphones you want the headphones that fit inside your ear hole :) something like these:

Ive got an awesome pair of over ear Sony's, with noise canceling features built in. Works great on the aeroplane and really comfortable. They fold up too so are pretty small for packing in hand luggage. I will look out the model number in the morning. Think they were around 50 quid

I currently use Sennheiser IE6's, they're a tad on the expensive side but VERY good. I managed to get them for £70 from one of the bigger catalog stores that offer £30 off your first order.. can't find the store now though :(

THey fold up pretty small, sound quality is amazing, and the NC function works really well.

Check out the Shure e2c's...couple of yrs old now, but on a flight to New York on a plane with loud engines AND a b***** screaming baby next to me I couldn't hear anything but the tunes I was listening to...bliss...

bottom end leaves a fair bit to be desired, but for cutting out external noise, these are pretty good, use the orange foam buds as opposed to the black plastic ones.

I really would not buy those sony's buds (SonyMDREx33Lpw) tbh as I had 2 sets and both failed in < 6 months. They had a good sound but the fact they failed so quickly annoyed me.

I use these now and they are better then the sony ones and it has an inline button which makes changing tracks on the iPhone a breeze.
